Where Every Star Shines…

At EPSOD our focus is on meeting the student’s needs and finding the right dance classes and pathway for them. All of our classes have something to offer in terms of physical, cognitive and social development, however specific classes cater to different needs and we will work with you to find the most suitable. We are a recreational dance school in Prudhoe, Ponteland and Hexham whose values lie in building an inclusive community for our members to be a part of while offering qualifications and a pathway into professional dance training for those who want it.

Our Early Years dance classes offer an introduction to all styles and work to develop a passion for dance using stories, props and inspiring music, in a social setting where children can develop relationships and build self confidence.

As children get older we offer a variety of classes and opportunities depending on how much or how little they want to do. If your child enjoys structure, learning a new discipline and setting personal goals then our Ballet and Tap classes would suit them well. If they’re wanting a very physical class which will develop strength and flexibility then our Acro classes would be a good choice. To develop their creative skills and ability to collaborate with others then try our Contemporary classes. To learn fun routines in styles such as Commercial, Street, Musical Theatre and Jazz then go for our Freestyle classes. For anyone considering going into dance professionally then a good mix of styles would give you the best chance to succeed. Companies are looking for versatile dancers who have not just technical ability in a range of styles, but the confidence and skills to create their own choreography.

For those who want even more training and performance opportunities we have our Junior and Senior Company teams. Children are invited to be part of these teams based on their attitude to learning, commitment and team values as well as their ability to pick up new choreography and technical proficiency. Students who attend a variety of classes will be considered for these teams as a strong technical foundation is essential.

We also offer recreational classes for adults in Ballet, Tap and Pilates. These classes are for fitness, mental well being and social. We have lovely members and welcome new comers.
